In a word...
WOW. Like many others here, I was looking for something better than the stock iPod earbuds. I did the research on the net and found these Porta Pros and the Sennheiser PX100s and couldn't make up my mind...they both get excellent reviews from many sites.

I went with the Porta Pros, as they seemed to have a much more enthusiastic following! And man, I am not disappointed! I can see why people rave about them. Even I was compelled to do a review here, and I have never reviewed any purchases before on Amazon or anywhere else!

These headphones are top quality. The sound is excellent. Clear bass. Clear mids. Clear highs. If your MP3s are good quality, they'll sound great. If not...well, you will know it!

The first thing I listened to was Yes' Fragile and also the 'Drama' album. Holy smokes! I was hearing things pop out of the music that I never knew were there. It was like experiencing the songs for the first time all over again. The headphones were so comfortable I forgot I was wearing them, and was transported to another place entirely. The soundstage on these phones blows away just about anything out there in my opinion, and I have tried ALOT of cans...

Also, these phones are not as dorky as they seem. They are well constructed and fold up easily. They are much smaller than you perceive them to be from the pictures on the net. The appearance of the Porta Pros did not bother me at all.

These headphones respond wonderfully to the EQ settings on the iPod. I had fun discerning the differences between each one and hearing what else was being brought out of the mixes. If you are into music production at all as I am, you will appreciate how it must have sounded in the actual studios where the tracks were recorded. These phones will get you THAT close.

I found it very cool that the guy who designed these headphones over at Koss many years ago also posted a review here. The man obviously takes pride in his work. It shows. In researching Koss, I found that they started off as an audiophile company that took quality seriously in their products. The fact that these are still on the market after 20+ years speaks for itself.

If you are on the fence about these, don't hesitate to buy them. This is easily one of the BEST purchases I have made in a while, and I tend to thoroughly research everything I buy. It's a no-brainer, especially if you consider the lifetime warranty.

Great for classical music on a mp3 or ipod
What a surprise to find such a good headphone for the price, the sound quality is very good for classical music which is my preference. Not like home speakers, but on the road tops! Try them.

Something so good they did not have to change the style
These earphones have been around a long time for a reason. Although not as clear as Bose noise-canceling earphones, you cannot beat these earphones for the money. They work very well with an iPod. The bass is especially good, and the music itself is a lot more precise than with the normal iPod earbuds. These earphones are well worth the money.

Graphics Greatness
I simply could not have finished school without this tool! The important thing is to have it when you start and use it or every class you can. There are so many functions available that it would take years to learn them all. I am done with school now but not my calcuator.

good calculator
thank you so much! i love the calculator. the ones at the store are really expensive, so the price was really good. the only complaint i really have was that my calculator wasn't working when i first got it, but i then changed the batteries and it worked. but overall, it works great and i really enjoy it! thank you!

Only buy out of nessesity
This calculator is not worth the money it costs to buy, its like your grandfathers calculator. TI has failed to improve on even basics like screen resolution. Why? because TI has a monopoly on the market, most math text books today only show how to use TI and most teachers learned on the same them selves and are unfamiliar with other brands. TI can sit comforatbly where it stands, selling mediocre calculators for exorbant prices, reguardless of advances in technology, because thay know you will struggle in any math class without it. Come on TI where is the improvement?

the printer will not stop functioning when the ink expire. Would of did copy and paste here but amazon stops you from doing that some how.

Too finicky by half
I am seconding the review below that complained about wasting ink. The printer quality is fine, the ink quality is fine. But the system by which the printer shuts down if the ink is "expired" is frustrating. Even if it is one of the color cartridges you cannot solely print in black and white. This leaves you having to reset the date on your computer to some past time in order to get your print jobs done. Obviously if you are doing a ton of printing and you will use every cartridge within a couple of months, this won't create the same level of problem (although I have had cartridges with 2007 expiry dates "expire" as far as the printer was concerned within a couple of months -- they are made by HP in India, I notice, so I suspect that quality control may have a few glitches -- but at these prices it is aggravating.)

This expiry system is such a poor feature that I can only give it a three. If they would remove this feature, it would be an easy five since the quality of the ink is quite good.

HP 10 ink Cartridge system
This would be good if you were using up all the ink in each cartridge at least every 9 months or so. If you print a lot of photos year-round it would be a good system. The problem HP built into this system is that the cartridges expire (and may not have much time on them when you buy them--and there is no marking on the box or unit to tell you the expiration date). If you knew that the cartridges had not been sitting around the store and the warehouse you might be ok. If even one of the colors has expired the printer gives an error message and WILL NOT PERMIT YOU TO PRINT. So the net result is YOU HAVE TO THROW AWAY HALF FULL CARTRIDGES!!! This eliminates any potential savings. There is a way to get around this by setting the date on your computer back so the printer thinks that the cartridges are not expired but this is tedious. The ink is still good and they could have simply given a warning and let the customer the right to decide if they wanted to change ink before it was used up. This might be good for a professional or serious amateur photographer. If you print occasionally and are trying to pinch pennies be warned that this printer will not save you money on ink.

Does the job....
This calculator does the job for what I need. No batteries needed and it is solar powered. Only problem I have is the cover case. It is not slide in / slide out cover cases like most calculators. It is more of a snap it on / snap it off. Other than that it does help protect it from dust and getting the screen scratched.

You do not know when you need the manual and when you don't. Try calculating a monthly payment with a standard term of 48 months. Check your answer in a spreadsheet. Then change the term to 48.5 months. Uh oh, you get a different answer with the spreadsheet. The spreadsheet is correct. The HP is not. You need to know how to enter a term with a decimal place in the HP. What else will you need the manual for? Want to take a chance on an exam or in real life? No way. Use a Texas Instruments or a Sharp financial calculator.

HP 12 C - Power Computer & Calculator
This is as good as it gets. If you have any financial needs, this is the oNLY calculator to consider. It has the brain suitable for any and all financial calculations.
this was the Gold Standard set by the Certified Commercial Investment Managers of the National Association of Realtors.

In addition this has long battery life - like a couple of years with daily use.

Powerful, But Not Easy to Use
I have had this for almost 3 decades (there is a more recent version of it, but I have not seen it yet). Recently, I determined to learn every capability of this calculator (I only use the more obvious functions). There is an awful lot of subtlety, and it is impossible to use the advanced functions without the Owner's Manual & Problem-Solving Guide. I was about to take it down a star or two for its complexity, but this was really not any worse than the other financial calculators I have used, so par for this. Just make sure that you keep the manual stored with the calculator: you're gonna need it. However, I decided to give it top rank; at least it possesses all those capabilities (not that you will ever figure out to make it work). Despite its age, I still like and use it.
A small sampling of obscure things:
* "12x" key not only times by 12, but also puts the result into "n"
* "12÷" key not only divides by 12, but also puts the result into "i"
* "f" and "." puts display into scientific notation
* does not have a "log" key, but it does do common logs (you just have to know the magic word)
* does not have a 10^x key, but has a "Y^X" key
* holding down "-" and pressing "on" clears all registers (including the programming ones) at the same time
* the date input format and payment convention (beginning or end of a period) are not reset when you turn it off
* "prefix" has 2 different functions
* sometimes you have to press the financial keys twice
* difference between "i" and "INT" keys
Heaven knows what all else.

FINANCIAL FUNCTIONS
Some of these are obvious: statistics (sigma+, std dev, and mean), or financial (n, i, PV, PMT, FV; just remember the cash flow convention); these you can pretty much figure out just by looking at the keys. Others, however, you will stare at thinking "duh?": 2-coordinate linear estimation, bond, depreciation, discounted cash flow, weighted mean, sample vs. actual mean for the statistics function, amortization. For these, you will have to study the examples in the manual. There is a cheat sheet on the label on the back, but these are rather cryptic and not always helpful.

PROGRAMMING
I skipped this section. Yes, you can write your own mathematical program at the register level. But a spreadsheet is much easier and faster (remember: this thing was made before there was a such thing as a "personal" computer).

SOLUTIONS
Because of its programming capability, this calculator has many more capabilities than just the hard-wired ones. The manual and the optional solutions manual have literally dozens of different financial calculations that the 12C can do. Problem: you have to manually key them in, and some of the programs are quite long. Also, it can only hold one program at a time (course, since the memory is continuous, the last program you keyed in will stay in memory even when you turn it off). If you want to do a different program, you will have to wipe out the old one and key in the new one.

I have benn using the HP 45 for almost 10 years. I would recommend any printer that uses this cartridge for supply is plentiful and you can get good deals on this ink cartridge. I have another printer with a newer black ink cartridge, and the deals on that are not as good. HP 45 has been around for a while. Good Catridge.

About what you should expect
I just took my new Backtrack out for a trial run to hunt squirrels after an ice storm. I didn't really expect to get anything but just had to play with my new toy. I marked my trucks location (I took my truck in case I got a big one) and headed off into the crystal forest. Just as I thought animals are smarter than humans and were holed up for the day but the ice coated trees were spectacular!!! After crunching around for about an hour I headed back to the truck (no squirrels) using the GPS as a guide rather than using known trails. Knowing where I was I questioned the pointer arrow but soon realized it was pointing me in the general direction of my truck. Following the average direction I came to within 15 yards of my truck. This GPS will not magically transport you to the exact footprints you were standing in when you marked your spot but it will get you very close to it. For the price and for a person like myself that has NO sense of direction I LIKE IT!!!

Pretty good for the money but beware of magnets
Great low price for a quasi-GPS. Yes, indoors it does take about a Minuit or even two to lock on to the satellite signal but faster outside with a view of the sky. One VERY important issue is that POINTER IS sensitive to magnets or large metal objects just like a hand held compass. The distance seems unaffected which is probably determined by satellite (I assume). So keep all large metal objects and especially magnets away from the thing while using it or the POINTER will point in the wrong direction. This is in any mode, both the compass and location modes. I alternated direction of a bar magnet about a foot away and it causes (only) the pointer to change wildly. Hunters watch your metal firearms. Just use it like any normal compass (hold away from large metal objects) and it will be fine. I like it very much.

works great for hunting
i have been looking for something like this for years. i hunt rabbits with dogs in cedar swamps and it is very easy to get turned around when everything looks the same in this type of terrain. now i just punch in my wearabouts at the truck before i get in to the woods and presto it points me to my truck everytime ,no matter what,weather ,hills ,trees . i wouldn't go hunting without it again now that i have one and so simple to use ,its just what us hunters needed .i have tryed to use the hand held gps like e-trex and this backtrack is so much nicer for what hunters need.thanks bushnell
